From a local idea to a note for all of Delft.
Discover how the Delft Florin came about, the steps a note goes through and what our plans are for the future.
Local purchasing, made tangible.
The Delft Florin grew from Delfinitely’s local-purchasing movement, which is now its own foundation. The note connects organisations that want to give, people who love Delft and entrepreneurs where they spend it.
Fans of Delft spend
Entrepreneurs receive

Every note helps strengthen Delft’s ecosystem — simply, without an app, account or complicated payment step.
From a small gift to a locally loved note
This is how a florin moves through the city — in seven clear steps.
Organizations buy notes as gifts for their employees.
Spend them at all participating local entrepreneurs in the city.
Entrepreneurs exchange them for euros through a separate guarantee account.
Available to buy for three years, then redeemable for another two years.
Used notes are destroyed and removed from circulation.
A QR-code system checks validity in one scan.
Any remaining balance after five years flows back into the local economy.
On the way to launch.
Preparations are complete, and printing is underway. We are currently working on the initial distribution of the notes and building a network of local businesses where the Florijn can be spent. Next we scale up the initiative, together. Would you like to get involved? Please contact us.
We are launching the Delft Florin on 20 November, Entrepreneur's Day. Follow our news for the latest developments.
